Hey guys,

I found a good deal for the Magnat Monitor Sub 300A. Here are some specs:

100W RMS, 200W Max.
16 Hz - 200 kHz freq response
12" driver size
16kg
44cm x 33.5cm x 39.5cm

I havent been able to find any reviews or opinions so if anyone has experience with this sub, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

Yeah, that's what baffles me (poor english? :)) I mean the deal is 140 euro (I live in France) for 'like new'... These rates of freq resp don't come anywhere near that cheap yet everywhere on the net thats the rated response... What could this mean for a sub that cheap ?

I've never heard of it before, but I'd be pretty skeptical of it hitting 16Hz at a usable volume. Without a -3dB spec the frequency response they give is useless. Plus the box is just too small to make 16Hz realistic.

I totally agree, but for 140 euro, even if it hits below 30Hz I'd be more than happy! Do you think this is manageable in a relatively small room with this sub ?

I think 30Hz would be a reasonable expectation in a small room.

For $200 USD ($140 EUR) I'd recommend something from BIC, Velodyne, or perhaps Dayton. I don't know if those are available in France however.

I know Voledyne and Dayton but they're too expensive even second hand. Right now my speakers are rated 45Hz - 20kHz at +/-3db so I figure 30Hz should be a good improvement. I think I'm gonna buy it still if anyone else has some thoughts, please share them!
