I think I'm going to get one of these boards for a new build I'm doing for a friend of mine.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...pk=GA-H55-USB3

The features & everything seem to be exactly what I'm looking for, but before I pull the trigger & buy it I just thought I'd see if anyone here has anything notably positive or negative to say about it. Any of you guys/gals have one, and if so, what's your opinion?

PS: This board will be for a basic build, with no O/Cing or gaming.

I can tell you of my great impressions by the same board. It's rock solid and stable. Everything i need works as intended and advertised. The board is a great overclocker also.
Paired with i3-530 it's a dream machine. Runs windows7 like a breeze (i have a SSD). Everything is fast and snappy.
Not a single problem so far with it. I say grab it and overclock the crap out of it!

Thanks for the feedback. I'm planning on using the same CPU (the i3 530).

If you don't mind me asking, your sig says you're using a different board and CPU. We are talking about the GA-H55-USB3, right? (Maybe you have two PCs?)

Ask freely my friend :) As a matter of fact i have plenty of PC's cause i am a system builder. All my friends have PCs assembled by me which makes them "mine" since i continue to service them, upgrade them and stuff. The H55 board i have which is the same as yours i use it for a private HTTP, FTP and file server. I also crunch some SETI@Home workunits on it. The machine i have in my sig is for everything else (my primary). In the office i also have an Asus and a MSI P45 boards with an oc'd Q9550 and an E5300.

I don't have enough space in my sig to write all my builds you know :)

Newegg has board (ATX) on sale $10 off. I have the M version of this board and it's been working great. However I did look at the full ATX model. Couldn't find many reviews on it. Sometimes I wish I would have went with it for the extra expansion slots but so far I'm ok. I'm using the integrated graphics for now, not a gamer.

Yeah, I figured that but just wanted to be sure. Thanks again for the feedback. I think I'm going to get that board & CPU, with 4 GB of Crucial DDR3 1333. It's all for a build for a friend -- I wish it was for me! :(
