Any opinion on 760G+710(SB) chipset for AM3+ build?

My brother(who lives in India, btw) is planning to build a system. He knows someone who can give some discount on AMD processors, and considering that he is upgrading from P4.. I told him to go ahead with AMD build even though I know they are inferior to Intel, performance wise.

Anyway, he has been looking into motherboards.. and he said these 760G based chipsets are extremely cheap when compared to 880G chipsets(More than 50% difference).

These are the motherboards selected for consideration:

Gigabyte GA-78LMT

ASUS M5A78L-M LX PLUS

Overclocking is not his concern at the moment, and I don't think it will ever be as we don't have AC in the room.

So, what do you guys suggest? Is 760G good enough when compared to 880G?

TDP is 95 watts, 8 gb RAM max, limiting feature set, as a low end snob I find it low end indeed, as one occassionally resource stressed I've spent more for less and mostly done well enough.
CPU list AM3+ is FX-4100 and FX-6100 at 95 watts stock.
Should work.

I am on one of these at the moment. The onboard graphics are poor; but I don't have any complaints otherwise. You can read up on the feature set from 760g up to 880g online which I suggest you do and decide which features are desired. I'm going to be upgrading my graphics soon also.

Thanks guys. My bro finally bought a Gigabyte 880g AM3+. What I have observed is that there are currently two revisions in the market; Rev 3.1 and Rev 4.0.

Sadly, Rev 4.0 only supports 95w cpus.. so I asked him to make sure he is buying a rev 3.1. The downside of rev 3.1 is that it does not have the BIOS to support AM3+ cpus right out of the box, so you have manually update the BIOS with a AM3 CPU first.
