Any one use a (large screen) LCD TV for office work?

It seems like every few years I upgrade my monitor to larger sizes in an attempt to get more aps like Excel or Word or email on my screen making it easier to do work. Each time I do that I get small screen increases that come closer to allowing me to get 2 or 3 things on the screen in a workable manner, but not the Utopian environment I am hoping for.

So I was thinking why shouldn't I just buy a 1080P 42" LCD TV and get it over with?

Has anyone done this? I'm kind of curious if the text is going to look horrible or not as I have an older Samsung 42" LCD that looks good for gaming, but sucks for text.
