Any one try Nair For Men?

I saw the ad in this month's Maxim.

Not a joke, it's real.

I'm thinking about trying it...I'm tired of shaving my back. I have an electric trimmer with a pivoting head. It throws my shoulders out of joint doing it, but I can pretty much get my whole back...takes too long though.

Thinking about this. Thoughts?

You may need a grout float to apply the product and a squeegee to remove it. Other than that it may work very well.

You may want to keep it a secret from your family and friends that you are using this product as well.

Could go the wax or laser route.

Would assume that nair would "work", but I dunno.

Told my wife that she could wax my back if she wants. I don't have an excessively hairy back, but it would be an experience. 🙂

ive used it on my arms before. It works *BUT* it will burn you and leave your skin feeling irritated. My roomate also used it on his chest and he said it also burned him and his skin was irritated as well.

I tried it on my legs, it works but it doesn't remove all of it. I started feeling the hair grew back the next day so its good for a lil bit.

Hmm. I've had a GF wax my back. It hurt like SHHIT and the hair grew back in a few weeks. It was one of those small DIY kits from the drugstore...came with like these thick tape-looking strips that kinda "melted on'" w/your body heat. Then you just rip them off.

Talk about sobering up REAL quick. 🙁

The only prob I forsee is how to cover my back with the stuff? I'm not double jointed.

have someone do it for you, they have roll on which is easy to use. Leave it on for 5-10 wash it off pat dry with a towel and voila!

warning: your skin might get irritated sh1ts potent.

I used to get full body waxes (I'm a really hairy guy) and it hurt like heck.

I've used Nair before and I would say that it is pretty good. Your hair will grow stubble in a few days but if you did it once a week you would be fine.

I don't know how much it costs though.

Price range?

And how serious are you about this?

I'll mention the laser again. Have heard a couple stories from guys that have done it.

Also, thanks for the anecdote about using the wax with the GF. Might make me think twice about agreeing to let the wife wax my back. 🙂

How much does it cost to have it done professionally where women have their legs waxed?

It was costing my $130 ($100 US) every month to get a full body wax.

Have you seen Deuce Bigalo? The part between your crack hurts the most!

I may wind up looking into the professional wax thing. I know they actuallyhave these crock pots that they melt the wax in...it's really hot (allegedly) when they put it on...but allegedly, the hair doesn't grow back for awhile. I dunno...when my GF used those strips, it grew back just as fast as when I use the clipper to shave it off.

It's not usually that hot. The temp is adjustable so it will vary by which esthetician you are seeing.

It will usually take about 2-3 weeks for hair to grow in to the point where you can get it waxed again (1/4 inch I believe). As long as you have the money I'd say go for it.

What's it cost, anyway? Typical price?

It depends on what you are getting done. I was paying $100 US each month for a full body.

It'll probably be $20-25 for each major body part (back, chest, legs, etc).

full body as in ever-re-where?

Be proud of that hair sweater, my fellow gorilla 😀 Seriously, shaving/waxing anything but the face and head for men is metrosexual, except in pro bodybuilding and debatably competitive swimming. Don't give in, don't be a girly-man!

I just used Nair a couple hours ago...
It seems to work well. I only left it on for 5 minutes and I had no skin irratation or anything. I used it on a small amount of hair that grows on my shoulders (no hair on my back, thank you god!).

Don't count your blessings if you're still in your teens or early 20s... I never had hair on my back either... I recently noticed I have a few patches coming in though; it's apparently migrating from my head 🙁

back hair. ewwww.

I'm not massively hairy, but I do keep my chest shaved. I tried nair for men once last summer, and I wasn't really happy with it. razor > nair.

Oh, I am proud. Believe me, chicks dig the hairy chest. 😎 BUT, they don't dig a hairy back and shoulders. Niether do I. I prefer..."the chest patch" if you will. Hair on the chest/stomach, but NOT on the shoulders and back. Basically, from the collar bones "up and over" no hair.

A few years ago, a cleansing once every 2-3 months would more than suffice. Now, every few weeks is more like it. :|
