Am getting sick of waiting for shit to download every single god damn time I enter a match. The game is usually over before I get all the custom content.
Anyone know of a place on the interwebs I can get all that shit at once?
Already have both community bonus packs and the community expansion packs, and several other packs. But I always need MOAR!!!
Only games I can play are the ones with no custom content, and those are so rare its getting hard to find them.

From my experience you just have to wait and download it. I have yet to find a place that had all the custom content for any UT games.

Hmm, you got me into thinking about playing UT2k4 again. I hate UT3 with a passion.

There was an awful lot of custom content made for the game. Even if you found a site that had it all, it would probably take weeks to download all of it.

Not really. If it were 10 gigs I could have it all in one day, IF I could use a download manager and get it all in one big package.
My problem is getting a teeny bit here and there from guys running the server as I start the game. Most of them are clearly on dial-up or 128kb DSL. By the time I get everything I need the game is over. Tried torrents and all I could find is illegal versions of the full game itself, cant even find the stupid community packs.

if you were to download all the customs, that would be several terabytes of data, and that's just a small portion of the tens of thousands of original/custom-expansion maps that have been modified from designers in North America, Asia and Europe.

the game is virtually unplayable with dial-up and 128kb. reason why it downloads so slow so many times is server priority, accept the truth.

Red Orchestra alone is 700mb. The total conversion mods are fairly large. One site I use to go to had a list of 70+ total conversion mods, then there are all the other mods. It's been awhile, but I'm sure I had a lot more than 10GB of mods when I use to play it.

I don't think the game is a popular as it was so tracking them all down would be a pain. Just stick to a few popular ones.

OK I dont think you know what I am talking about.
When I open up the servers list and pick a game mode, say Deathmatch for example, I am treated to a list of hundreds if not thousands of games. And almost every single one of them requires me to download so much shit that its unlikely I can start the game before those guys get finished playing.

You are talking about total conversions which is completely unrelated.

Eventually you'll get all the content if you're patient. Also, you should go to your .ini files in the System folder (UT2004.ini or user.ini, I forget which exact file) and make sure that your cache settings are set so that it either never automatically deletes the cache or so that it lasts for 180 days.

Out of curiosity, what servers are you trying to connect to?

I remember playing UT99 back in my dial-up days and having to patiently download 3 MB-sized maps. I used to try to find out what maps were on my favorite servers and download and manually install the maps.

Did you try looking at the modding sites for UT? I can't remember the name of the site I used to go to, but they had loads of ranked content available for download as well as tutorials for mappers...

Whatever game is being played.
Many of the other users are running on slow internet, so trying to get stuff from them is a frustrating experience. My cache is fine, I'm not deleting anything its just that theres a ridiculous amount of custom crap and I only started with online play yesterday.
