Any one here work as a Probation aide (JV) or similar job?

Currently I work for the State of CA as a paper pusher(fax copy etc) I make $11. The state hours are basically Monday through Friday 8-5 of which I work roughly 20 hours a week. Its about 15min from school and I pay $50 a month for parking

I saw a position for a Probation aide (juvenile) the Job pays $18.39 an hour starting I can work any day of the week as much or as little as I want, even during odd hours. It?s close to school and there is free parking.


I was just curious if anyone here had any experiences with jobs similar to this one. I?m fairly large 5 10 and 260 lbs so I don?t think I can get punked by the kids.

Don't have experience as a Probation Aide but I did have a Probation Officer growing up in California as a juvenile delinquent. We'd go out and shoot hoops on his weekly visits. He was a pretty good guy. We spent a year and a half together.

It's actually very nice working for the state. Easy work I can do it in my sleep.
