I've had friends force me to go to a Mary Kay party. Like, "tie me to a chair" force me. I hate makeup, I hate salespeople and I hate "let's all go be girls together!" events.

So nope, no MLM here.

Why, yes I have. Let me tell you all about it - I make tons of money and its really fun and easy. Give me your phone number and let me call you and give you the lame-o sales pitch, whoops, I mean let me tell you how fantastic it is.

Made quite a bit of money in Amway in the early 80's when we lived in Jew-tah. For some reasons, the Mormons are always looking for a "get rich quick scheme" of one kind or another...and such scams thrive there.

My wife was an Avon lady for many years and when she "retired" to take care of me after my surgeries, she was netting over $2500/month. Not bad for a part-time gig.

Made spending money while in High School and college doing Fuller Brush in my hometown and surronding areas.

Inherited a route and expanded it. 15-30% commission.

Not unless you count facebook games where they are basically giant pyramid schemes with no actual payoff.

Having worked at Mary Kay corprate, I can tell you that some people can make a shit ton of money doing it. the scam is that you have to have people working under you selling product as well. Don't go into one of these things thinking you'll make enough money a year to quit your full time job. It will take you a long time to get the connections and set up a network to make you money.
A lot of people try it (and you have to by a starter kit) and a lot of those people quit and eat the cost of the starter kit.

Save yourself the frustration and headache and get a real job.

Utah is a base of operations for many MLMs due to the Mormon religion. Mormons are required to do service which often sends them around the world, so network marketing uses that as an in to new markets.

Disclaimer: I'm the IT Director at mid-sized MLM, so I am intimately familiar with the nuts and bolts of the MLM industry.

No, Pink Cadillacs are for consultants that sell over $1 million a year. they have to keep those numbers up to keep the car. I had a white Expedition Eddie Bauer 4x4 I used as a company vehicle.

Just send me your bank account number, your credit card numbers, your social security numbers, and a blank check made out to me, and I'll get your starter pack right off to you!

Oh, and since it's multi level, also send me the account numbers of all your relatives, your friends, your teachers, your worst enemies, and everyone you've ever met. And I'll be happy to add them to our downline!

See - isn't this easy and fun?

My wife did Avon for a few months. It was nice getting a few hundred dollars extra. Then she decided it was too hard and there it went.....

A friend of mine and his wife pull in a few thousand a month off of Arbonne (?) stuff.
