Are there things to do or places to go in walking distance or will I need a car?

You can catch an RTS bus to pretty much anywhere, but to do anything really you'll need a car. Henrietta "proper" (Marketplace Mall, all the shopping, etc) is within about 5 minutes down the road. All the clubs and stuff are downtown Rochester, about 15 minutes drive at best. All the "good" stuff to do is up in Greece north of the city, about 30 minutes up the road towards the lake. The campus is pretty much isolated from walking to anything meaningful.

My best friend went there for undergrad.
The trimesters are a bitch and don't expect it to be a hip partyish school. There are very few women, but lots of nerds/geeks doing drugs and doing nerd stuff.

Why would anyone consider a school based on that? Unless you were concerned that it was just a party school and you wouldn't get anything accomplished academically, which I'm pretty sure R.I.T. is not.

I used to live in Rochester and R.I.T. was well regarded at the time.

Oh, and living in Rochester you'll get to experience the legendary garbage plate. :p
Oh comon, you know there is more to school than academics.

Well, if nothing else he can look forward to becoming a Bills fan. :p
True Bills fans are born into fandom. Everyone else are mutts.

I like it. :) Born and raised in Bills country. Once a Bills fan, always a Bills fan.
