That's half the fun. It took me 10 minutes or more to find all the peices I need for a small section of the blackade runner but only 2 to put them all together.
The fun is digging through 1600 peices and then just to see a small fraction of the ship built. You could then actually watch it take form one small step at a time..

what I hate is how lego now has all these custom pieces that come with their sets. Example- Bionicles...wtf? What happened the the good ol' block?

I could just be jealous though, I don't think I ever had real legos. The closest I got was a 800 piece bucket of generic blocks

btw, do they still make Technics?

So how big would the Death Star model be in relation to the 3 ft Star Destroyer. Something like 9 feet in diameter? :D

If it were to scale? Much much bigger.

A Super Star Destroyer, like the Executor, is supposed to be 11 times bigger than an Imperial Star Destroyer and as you can see here the Executor is pretty small relative to the Death Star.

I'm a geek, I know.

remember though, the 2nd Death Star was MUCH bigger than the 1st ;)

That is true, however the accepted values for the diameter of the Death Star & Death Star II are 120 km & 160 km respectively. Both are MUCH larger than the 1 mile long ISD. Also, both Death Stars are supposed to have multiple docking points for ISDs along the equatorial trench so the DS much be immense.

Besides, Han Solo would not have mistaken something that was only a few miles across for a moon, even a small one at that. :)

My geekiness shines through even more.

What??? You don't know the difference between a Star Destroyer and the Death Star??? Someone doesn't belong at ATOT...

;)

I don't know the difference. I've never seen a full star wars movie except Episode 1. I have to desire to see any more than that.

You should have started with the Star Wars movies that were really good.
