i sent the mod a pm explaining to them that while i might have been rude the last couple days but not overley zealous, i asked for a reason why, 5 minutes later i check back for a response and walla im no longer banned.

Was probably not from a mod. It was probably from a spammer / scammer trying to phish your info based on your responses.
