This game is basically COD2 RTS done well

My feelings exactly.

I'll run the bench tomm but I'm using 6.6 Cats and haven't been able to rename the game to something that won't make it buggy and run in AFR.

Yeah it runs pretty buggy for me too, what do you mean rename the game?

I'm using crossfire and prior to 6.8 cats, you had to rename games to force AFR. But 6.6 chucks are the best Crossfire drivers for Oblivion. I've been trying to rename the game to force AFR but so far no luck. The game plays in tiling mode but it's like a 5% increase...
Anyway, just trying to clear up my comment :p

Beat the game this afternoon. Definitely one of the more hardcore last levels I've played in a while. Nearly lost on a couple occasions and the computer Ally had to save my arse twice.

This looks like a cool game, I wish the demo was longer. I'm a big strategy game fan and trying to decide whether to wait before I buy this. A lot of times it's better to wait for some patches to come out (Rome Total War improved it's AI by leaps and bounds after a few patches) and it doesn't hurt to get it for cheaper either.

They already released one patch for the game. It's about 99.99% stable and actually it'll really test your system's stability.

There is only a few random bugs left...and they aren't serious at all. Well only annoying I guess. Sometimes your units wont return fire when fired upon so you have to watch them close at times when attacking multiple fronts at once.

And the MP is already been exploited all to hell but that always happen. Otherwise it's an amazing game. the single player is well worth the price of admission. Took me a week to finish....(around 50-60 hours on 'Easy') The normal difficulty is INSANE. But it's worth it, trust me you wanna buy it!

I'll definitely buy it at some point. I'm glad to hear that the difficulty is high - I like a challenge and I'm pretty good at strategy games. Small bugs aren't a HUGE concern, but are there any glaring problems with AI or unit balancing (offline only, there are always going to be issues with multiplayer exploitation).

Offline, definitely nothing that glaringly stands out. There is a unit on the Axis side called the Ostwind Flakpanzer and it tears infantry apart like no bodys business and it's as fast and mobile as a tank. Some people insist it's a balance issue. But a 3.7cm rapid fire(250RPM) gun is obviously gonna rip infantry a new one. But the thing is, any halfway decent armored unit takes it down in a heartbeat. As will an AT gun.

The Tiger tanks will give you fits but thats more historically accurate than anything.

It's just like any RTS once you figure out the computers tactics it's easy to start countering. But this is the sort of game where the AI will kick your ass 5 times before you figure it out. And actually the computer tank rushed me tonight in a skirmish. I think you'll enjoy it. You want anything more just PM me or post on here.

Happy to say, there aren't. :)

2.85ghz a64, x1800xt512 @700/800, 1gb ram at 1280x800 auto settings gets 37avg 136max 20min... was slower first run...

does this game need 2gb? it was beating the $hit out of the hd...

I have

3000+ @ stock
1.5GB PC3200
74GB 1st gen raptor
6800GT

At 1600X1200 with auto settings I got highs in the 60s, lows in the teens and my avg was right around 26 fps which was fine for a rts.

i've heard 2 gb helps. most of the new games recommend it.

it seemed ok with 1gb for me, but i dont have any other stuff running and i only played the tutorial so far.

might upgrade to 2gb if it is slamming the hard drive.

Obviously! Also, get three or even two tanks together and they'll have a party trying to get down a road or around a corner! Yay! Enemy tank is lighting up your infantry 100ft away from your tanks. God forbid they take less than 5 minutes to negotiate around a corner to provide backup!

Tanks weren't exactly the fast-moving demons the United States is using to kick ass in the middle-east now...

On my 7950GX2, I get 24.7 AVG frames, 84.6 MAX frames, and 9.4 MIN frames with Best quality driver settings, everything maxed out and 1680x1050 rez. Game is patched. Shouldn't I be getting faster frames, what's wrong?

Turn everything to high, then try it?
Having the textures on Ultra has too much of a performance hit?

I'm not really sure but it was a slideshow at everything on best/ultra/high and then when I turned everything to high, it was not a slideshow. Thats all I know.

Nightmare-
You seem to have alot of issues us other 7950GX2 users do not with your games running pretty slow.

I AVG 35fps with all setting to High/Ultra and AA on 1600x1200 rez.
With the patch.

With all your posts regarding your crappy performace with your card, I think your card has some problems with it.
It does not seem to run right at all.

Can you exchange it for a new one?
