<< mine is currently torn. i tore it this snowboarding season, i went off a jump and landed harder than my knee could handle. i didn't fall or anything, just hit the ground to hard and it tore.
i went to the dr's and they had me get a MRI on my knee to be sure. and sure enough, it was torn.
my surgery is going to be sometime at the end of this summer.
you don't NEED to get it repaired, but if you are active at all it will lead to accelerated arthritis. this is also something that will never heal on its own. also, it will give out and hurt like a b1tch if you do anything active and put even an ounce of pressure in the wrong direction. >>
I don't have one, but I can verify all that CattleGod said. My good friend tore his about a decade ago and never got surgery. Once in a while, it pops and then come the screams... oh lord, the screams.
