have any of the other aussies on this board attended any of the country wide auto salon shows. they have the most awesome cars i have ever seen. for those that haven't had the opportunity to go, and those from other countries heres a couple of pics of my favourite car from the show.

Osman brothers' WRX pic 1
Osman brothers' WRX pic 2

although you cant actually see it on these pics, this car has a fully detailed undercarage. no one will ever call the interior of a WRX bland again ;)

While I'm not really all thay big on cars of that nature , it does look like someone has spent a lot of time and money on it. You would be hard pressed not to notice it. Who makes the WRX, it looks like a Subaru Outback.

I'm more of a 1970 Chevelle SS with a 632ci BB with two dominators and 33x21.5 Mickey Thompsons under the wheel wells.

yeh, WRX is a subaru. here in australia, they are virtually a cult car. extreme performance, and relatively cheap for that kind of performance. over the past 5 years they were the most popular cars for thiefs, and were often used for ram-raids, as they could outperform even the best of our countries police vehicles (which at the time were V8 holden SS commodores. btw, the WRX is only a 4 cylinder car). the cops were so pissed off about this that now have some WRX's of there own, which are commonly used for highway patrols. the current models are also much harder to steal.

My sister has an Outback, it's a nice little car. actually she has had 2 of them...

I have never seen a WRX over here, that I know of, so they must be an Aussie only car huh? Is it along the same lines an an outback?

nah, they were built in japan (i think, wherever subaru is based) and are big there, but are also exported to australia and a few other euro countries maybe, cant remember. im not sure how similar it is to an outback, we have them here to, but i cant remember what they look like, aren't they a wagon kinda thing or something? i read recently that subaru plan on exporting the WRX to the US within the next couple of years too.

the model in those pics is an Impreza WRX STi (capable of 0 - 100 km/h in 4.9 secs). what sort of performance does the outback have?

Yep, the Outback is a 4 door wagon. I'm not sure how fast 100km/h is in MPH but if it's anywhere near about 60MPH I would say that's damn fast. I have never driven my Sisters car or asked her about the performance but I would assume it's no where near that fast. I assume also that they are AWD?

yeh, now i pretty sure what an outback is, but trust me, the WRX will knock the doors off it :) and yeh 100km/h is fairly close to 60mp/h, not sure exactly though. and yes it is also AWD. i think all of subarus cars are im not sure though. my grandparents have a subarus sports wagon, which from memory is fairly similar to an outback, while it is by no means a performance car, it is still great value for money, and is quite 'zippy' ;)

100 km/h is about 62 mph. just multiply your km/h by .62 to get mph (roughly).
