Any of you play TFC?

I've watched the TF2 trailer at least twenty five times, it's perfect. It has to be the greatest teaser ever released for a video game.
Do any of you plan on playing when it hits the street?

been playing TFC religiously since the day it came out...and no I don't like the TF2 style. I will try it out, but will most likely play Fortress Forever . Or just end my tfc career

I used to play TFC for a while, but this new TF2 looks pretty dumb so far.
I was expecting something more mature, not more kiddy like stuff, but if the gameplay is good then the game will be good. I'll still debate if I really want to pay $20 the day HL2: Ep 2 + Portal + TF2 comes out. Maybe it will drop to <$10 like SiN: Ep 1 and HL2: Ep 1 @ CC.

Fortress Forever seems a lot better than TF2. As long as the gameplay is like TFC, I'll still play TF2. I still don't really care for the models.

I used to play TFC constantly back when it was more popular. I was always an engineer, a regular defense mastermind - between me and my sentry gun (and the occasional dispenser detonation), I was the lone guy who always stayed back and watched the flag rather than go on offense like every other guy. Those were the good ol' days.

These days, Counterstrike Source occupies most of my gaming time. TFC just feels like a dinosaur to play through, and with neither TF2 nor Fortress Forever looking to be released soon I'm stuck with wondering which one will ultimately take the cake. Some people tend to take a negative opinion of TF2 based on the little I'm sure we've all seen, but I'm going to reserve my final judgment until both games have actually been released.

Sure, Fortress Forever looks more like the TFC of old that I'm sure we all remember, but for all we know the new improvements the developers are promising could turn out to be totally awful and ruin the thing. The same goes for TF2. There might be some new twists on the gameplay that really add fun to the game despite the Toy Story-esque graphics, or the gameplay might be as silly as the graphics suggest. TF2 has "official" support in its corner, while Fortress Forever likely has the backing of the majority of the original TFC community.

I do think that one will eventually snuff the other out, but it's hard to say which one.

Interesting. I'm on the other side of the coin, I think the toon look is awsome. I only hope it plays half as well as it looks.
And if you think about it, where could valve have gone with TF2? If they went with what they announced 6 years back we'd have another verision of DOD or BF2. A stright up port to Source would have made it look better, but I don't think it would be enough to get new players in the game. I just don't see what they could have done that isn't already on the market. The one thing the world doesn't need is another fps war game.
