this stupid thread is still going? LOL
none of u answered the original question yet.

well. anyone attending ANY Occupy protests anywhere? hippies

Nope. Reading and following.

Working in the city as a part of a profession that is NOT being directly protested makes this an issue that demands attension.

Denial, ignorance and hatred are a sign of intolerance and insecurity. Waiting until you are the one that the current trends start to effect directly is waiting too long. By that time you will be the minority and many will be saying the same as you are now.

"Oh him? He does not know anything, he is spoiled, what does he want?"

For some reason there are so many people that think they have a realistic chance to be one of the 1% and do not want to "ruin" their chances to join the club.

People are stupid.

And then there are the people that think they have no chance of being one of the 1% on their own merits, so they'll get the government to steal from the 1% and give to them.

No one fucking cares dude. The only time someone is going to give a fuck what school you went to is when you're repping your Masters or Doctorate and even then, just the fact you have one is a big bonus. Today EXPERIENCE IS KING. Education is a way back second. Also, I know people with BAs from UCLA who can't get a job and people with BSs from smaller less prestigious schools who can get work like nothing. POOR CHOICES.

Also to the dude who said we shouldn't stifle people from going into the arts, YES WE SHOULD. We have way to many dumbfucks in this country with bachelors of the arts degrees and most of them are idiots.

Fuck much?

BTW, people did care where I got my Masters from. With no experience, all you have when you leave school is that "piece of paper". And in a recession, ANY advantage is important.

We also should not stifle the arts. Your M+M are way too extreme. What needs to be done is the same thing I see in the narrow microcosm of Engineering and Architecture. The same gap is widening. Architects thinking all they have to deal with is Art and Engineers focusing on the nuts and bolts (literally). You need a bit of crossover to enable working as a cohesive unit instead of a bunch of isolated specialists.

Art has a tendency to be over-celebrated in many societies, but absolute dismissal of it is just plain ignorant and belligerent. Art is more of a reflection of the way our minds work, and a combination of awareness of that and technical proficiency has proven, in many arenas, to be a potent mixture.

I am not talking about staring at the picture of a naked woman and complimenting on the use of shadows, but at the same time, a good shot can make even an average woman much more attractive.

But they are not the majority of the people protesting, and associating them with it is not logical or just.

"Steal" from the 1%? Stop making me laugh.

Strike one.

Physically working on wall street does not make me a millionare. I work IT, not the traders

Then you have not looked online. There are organizational parties already getting the message together, including one donating a billboard message for Time Square. Read up.

WTF do I have to look online when the fucking protest is down the street from me LIVE. I see and hear it all day long!

that was just the office party you were not invited to. Again with the stereotypes. Yeah, they are all like Caligula.

Again, if you would fucking read, I work here, I see it going on all fucking day. Are you that stupid that you cant read? What stereotypes? Losers? well then color me a bigot.

Again, you have not been looking. As I said before, the labor unions have started to attend (and yes, they are "organized groups"). You just do not see what you do not want to see, or admit to seeing
The labor unions have JUST started to peek in a couple of days ago. And labor unions are some of the wealthiest laziest working in this country, IMO. Please, spare me the labor union, they look out for the most money for the least work. Lazy class union is more like it. .

I messed up the editing/quote shit so spare me.

Can you stop that fucking canned response? Oh it doesn't agree with you, must be Fox News.
Reality check.

You better get your reality recalibrated there Pinky.

BTW, canned responses go best for canned replies. Most of this crap has been circled around and around the net for days now. "Hippies", "Get a job", "Spoiled", "OMGWTFBBQ".

If an actual discussion was present instead of convenient neocon soundbites then maybe they would deserve more than a canned rejoinder.

But in reality, government has stolen from the 99% and given it to the 1% to reward them for their bad behavior.

Please, spare me the labor union, they look out for the most money for the least work. Lazy class union is more like it.

Labor unions are not just looking for better pay. Without them we would still have the clothing factories that chained doorways and let people die in fires (NYC about 100 years ago). They have been around to help protect the rights of workers because, as has been proven time and time again, companies will keep cutting as much as they can until the workers stand up and say something.

That has gotten harder for workers to do with globalization and the lack of national control/protection (such as increasing taxes on proceeds earned in the states from "outsourced" working staff), but it is still not impossible.

Instead, we get a bunch of people that still do not see their 80¢ to the dollar in adjusted wages compared to 30 years ago (for the same work) and criticize those that have been hurt even worse.

You speak of laziness, but the mere fact that we find it hard to get more than 50% of the people to get out to vote for the PRESIDENT, nevermind any other elected official, should say something about the laziness of the American People.

In reality, its the oil cartels who fuck things up. Why dont these hippies occupy an oil well in the gulf, or better yet, in the middle-east. Bet it would last a day before they get all blowed up. :)

A bunch of idiots are planning a "protest" here on Saturday. I hope the cops just spray the crowd with rubber bullets and tear gas. For every one person that actually has a clue what they are protesting there will be ten morans there just wanting cause shit. This city drives me mental sometimes.

I got a chuckle this morning from some of the interviews on the morning news from todays Occupy San Francisco. They were trying to shut down the main Wells Fargo in the Financial District.

One of the geniuses there was upset that if you get a mortgage from Wells Fargo, you may end up paying more than twice the value of the home over the life of the loan o_O. Well no shit dumb ass, that's how mortgages work :awe:

You definitely have a bigger hardon for f150s than anyone in this country; makes sense though you worked hard for the stuff you wanted. Nothing but

can't wait for the poster to have kid and have something liek this:

I saved all my life for retirement. And I saved beyond what retirement accounts. Then when my kids went to college, they saw how much money I had and I did not get shit for scholarships. So, I worked all my life and still got F'ed.

Sorry, just watched my cousin go through this with their 3 sons. There savings went to college while the poor kids got scholarships. 4 years later, the poor parents and parents that saved all their life had no money beyond what was sheltered.

There are always federal loans (6.8%) - it actually works as an incentive to pick a useful major for most people. If you have to borrow 50K for a decent school, most people will think twice about what kind of job they'll need to pay it.

Also I don't think it's a surprise that kids are expensive.
