Uhh...do you mean nForce4 or 890? nForce4 chipset is already out, expect the MBs in about 2 weeks for around 150, and the 890 came out around the same time but I don't know about the MBs.

Zipzoomfly.com has had the Abit AX8 posted on their web site since the middle of September.

http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/...jsp?ProductCode=240148

Notice the misspelling of "aabit" so it won't show up on searches for Abit motherboards. I would have expected the board to be available for purchase by now given the initial press release predicted that the board would be at retailers some time mid to late October. It's all a waiting game my man.

Abit AX8

1 PCIe 16x
3 PCIe 1x ??? Why?
2 PCI regular

They should have put 2 PCIe 16x on there for dual graphics cards support.

SLI is an option, not mandotory.

VIA will have SLI, but only on the K8T890 Pro. The AX8 is based on the non-pro. It looks pretty shady - using the old VT8237 southbridge, no SATA-II or even NCQ support, no gigabit ethernet, no hardware firewall, no HD-Audio, really just looks pathetic compared to the nForce 4. The pro should be pretty good, although the new stuff on the nForce4 still looks more appealing to me, plus nVidia said they've tested nForce4 extensively with their 6x00 series, and that the cards will run better on their mobos than anyone else's. I think they have some hardware specific optimizations that kick in if it detects a 6x00 card. Pretty slick. Anyways, nVidia said retail boards within a month, it's already been over a week, so I'm hoping for 2 weeks, expecting 3, maybe 4 worst case.
