Any of you have SWG?

Im just curious as to how good it actually turned out? Ive been in search of the new big MMORGP for a long time now. Currently Im still playing UO, Planetside didnt cut it. Neither did DAoC, AC2, SB, or any of those other new mmorpgs. So Im curious as to how good SWG is? Whats the PvP like? Anyone got any insight on this? I really don't want to go dish out the money on another game that sucks.

daoc is much better at the moment. might want to give it a try. new mmorpgs always suck. swg won't be decent for 6 months

Well of course its going to be buggy, but Im more concerned for the raw longevity and future of it. UO has been running strong for over 5 years. Its not going to run forever, I want to get in good and early with the new replacement. SWG might be that?

I think the thing that will make or break a game is the PvP, and its features. Is the PvP in SWG skill based? Is it fun? Whats it like?

I'm playing SWG and I like it. Of course, I've never really played MMO games before so I'm not burnt out on "the same old boring stuff" like other MMO players have been saying. So I say it's pretty fun, but I don't have much to compare it to.

just wait for the second set of servers to open up.

if the pvp is anything like the exping its gonna be stupid.

I haven't done any PvP in Galaxies yet, but here's what I know about it. They have certain areas that are designated as "Battlefields". When you enter a battlefield you either choose a side or if you are aligned with the rebels or empire you automatically go to that side. You can then fight people from the opposite side.

Also, you can have a one on one duel with any player anywhere.

Agh, I played that for a few months. The PvP didnt do it for me. Its pretty boring if you ask me. The thing I like about UO is that the PvP is alive and chaotic. (Maybe not so as much as it used to be, but still more so then any other game out)

wtf is PvP?

If someone sees you in the game and attacks you or vice-versa.
There are varieties of this, such as safe areas, non-PVP servers, etc...

UO fo life - been playing off and on for 5 years

PvP in SWG reminds me an awful lot of DAOC, which as you said, doesn't cut it.

WTF do these abbrevs mean?
I love to play with Single White Girls myself, but big Married Men Offering Red Gay Penis's I find sickening. I love Ultimate Orgies though. Ew, don't cut the Planetside off please. I'm not even going to discuss DAoc, AC2 or the other stuff, this is gross enough already.

Quick rundown of the terms...

MMORPG - Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game
AC - Asherons Call 1
AC2 - Asherons Call 2
DAOC - Dark Ages of Camalot
AO - Anarchy Online
SWG - Star Wars Galaxies
UO - Ultima Online
SB - ??? (never heard of that one)
PvP - Player vs. Player (where you can attack other players in the game.)

Personally I love SWG, I have tried UO, AC, AO, etc... and so far SWG is the best. it does have some work to do but over all from the beginning it's not all that bad.

All this MMOG talk and no mention of MCO, Motor City Online... boy, EA did a piss poor job of marketing that game. In the sh!tter after a year and a half.
