Is it reliable enough? Our should I just look for a reliable T1? Or find someplace that will let me put a server at their location? Not sure which route to go. I am sharing space on a server right now.

A T1 runs at 1.5Mb, the same as your DSL line. However, some DSL providers prohibit subscribers from using their lines to host servers. Also whether or not you will 1.5Mb consistently on your DSL line depends on how much bandwidth your ISP has. Overall though, unless you have a very high traffic site, your DSL line should suffice as long as your ISP doesn't stop you.

At my work, we are running a 1.1meg SDSL with various web servers, mail servers, etc. running behind it. So far, it as been quite good - we have had no reliability issues and (only down once in many, many months) and it easily fast enough to do some basic web hosting.

It totally depends on how busy your webserver will be. For a small site like mine, my 768/128 can it just fine. I run 12 websites where are moderatly busy. Then again, if you have a lot of pictures, then it'll be slow. I must admit that 128 up is pretty slow.

I am actually on cable right now. They say "NO" to hosting. Some DSL setups will let you. My Cable is 1500/300. Pretty fast. Although I am only 300 up which is my limit for hosting. It is not a high volume site. Today's Online But does have alot of photos. I am stuck in a business with high bandwidth needs. lol - Don't ask me how I ended up in this business, my degree is in electronics. So I do both.
