Any of you guys ever hear of a group called Electric Wizard?

I can't even properly describe just how heavy their sound is. Its like being buried in a coffin surrounded by amplifiers and sub-woofers with the volume maxed out. I'm kinda new to the group but I've heard their Dopethrone and We Live albums and they both rock. I would say the music is similar to Black Sabbath just a lot heavier, they play a lot of slow, sludgy type of riffs. Awesome stuff

Yep same thing too. Like the music, can't stand the vocals. Same thing with Arch Enemy. I love the intros but turn the station once the lead....noise maker...starts....making noise.

I've been reccomending Electric Wizard for years
whenever someone starts a metal thread.


Definitely check out "Come My Fanatics"

Their finest album ... much heavier with better vocals.

Eyehategod - Dopesick or Take As Needed for Pain (Super heavy bluesy hardcore sludge)

Sleep - Jerusalem (one 50 minute heavy ass song that takes up a whole album)

Acid King - Busse Woods (heavy with female vocals)

I've gotten used to the whole death metal vocals thing.. doesen't bother me anymore.

Although of course I do prefer metal singing styles like Blind Guardian, Ozzy, Dream Theater, Metallica, Iced Earth... better.

Hell ya, I'm going to check this out. I love some thick ass heavy dropped D (or even C) sluggin head chuggin metal (up your @ss) loving rock. BlackSabbath, Tool, Danzig, clutch, KillSwitch, CROWBAR, AcidBath, Oh, ya!!!

Ive been out of the music scene for a while, Ill give this a spin.

Electric Wizard doesn't have death vocals


Check out the album Come My Fanatics for their best vocal samples,
awesome psuedo singing to heavy ass music like the reincarnation early Sabbath

They did get a little more gruff and distorted on Dopethrone, but still not death
