The just opened a store near here called Jungletoy and they specialize in high dollar airsoft weapons. we we checked it out and it seems there is quite a large following of it down here in Texas.

they use some of the old forested paintball fields to stage military ops using airsoft replicas for thier weps..

these weps are exact replicas of thier real world counterparts and shoot up to 600fps (rules state you cant use over 350 though on assault rifles..)

looks like alot of fun

we gonna go check out a large scale battle tommorrow and see if we want to really get into it..

Wow, I didn't know they had that. Sounds awesome! My g/f's brother is really into airsoft guns....too bad he's all the way down in Brownsville else I'd let him know about this.

I only know of 2 parks that give free gas, but the require expensive ass field paint. I however have my own tank, and I can get it filled for free. I throw it in the back of my truck and it will usually last the whole day for my group.

Cool...

I thought paintball was no longer played in the woods but out in open fields with small arenas and obstacles.. unlike the airsoft games which is more realistic and played in the woods and brush for cover.

There are quite a few parks in northern indiana/sw michigan that have wooded courses. There are also a lot of arena's. Some of them are even homemade courses out here, one of the ones I play at a lot is just little bunkers made out of wooden pallets out in a field where you have to bring all your own gear. My favorite course is up in battlecreek, MI. There is a a lot of variety up there, a castle to seige/defend, a mini city, a wooded area, a 'airball' course, etc.

I loved the look and the feel of the full metal airsoft guns.. the automatic was really cool..

My son would love to get into this game on the weekends.

No, I play Army.. We train with sim rounds some times. Which is a high speed paint round, that HURTS when it hits. Thats about it.

I love airsoft for the little ive played it. When your groups are feeling stupid, open it up to some old fashioned British line battles. Part of the fun is staring at your enemy knowing that in 10 seconds hes going to buzz a round into you that is going to hurt like hell

Yep, into airsoft here. Been into the "scene" for about 7-8 years. Unfortunately, I'm in the IL northern 'burbs and find little in terms of large-scale (or even small-scale) organized events. I hear about little, but even when something goes down it often conflicts with scheduling. Sucks. 🙁 I envy my southern counterparts. 😉

I own the following guns:
TM Colt M4A1
CA Colt M4A1
TM H&K MP5-A4
TM Berretta M92F (x2 for akimbo action 😉)
KJ H&K USP
KJ Glock 26
Marushin Winchester Model 1887/Model 1901 (Terminator lever action shotgun)
KSC M11A1
KWC Desert Eagle
KWC Sigma
KWC nickel .357 Colt Python
+misc. springers and cheap NBB gas models

If only I had more people to shoot at. 😉

Edit: If you have any questions about guns, quality, etc. just drop me a line. I've been around a bit and have plenty of opinions on manufactuers from experience. 😉 Drop me a line, always interested in airsoft talk.

See sig.

We get free gas, so all we have to buy is paint. There are about 4 parks around here with no cost of entry. Other's vary from 10-15.00

And how much is paint? I pay 10-15 bucks for 3000+ high-grade BBs..and electricity to charge my batteries costs next to nothing.

Might as well post my list:

Tokyo Marui P90 TR
Tokyo Marui Benelli
Tokyo Marui G36C (for sale)
Tokyo Marui AUG SR (Systema 6.04mm tightbore, Systema super torque-up motor, Systema torque-up gearset, Systema M120 spring & metal bushings, 9.6v battery)
KJW M9
KJW M9 (full metal version)
& misc springers.

Just recently sold a full metal Classic Army MP5SD5 here on AT..

Oooh cool! Most Definitely...

CVSIN just went on his first game this morning... I couldn't join him as my neck is screwed up and had to put my neck brace back on... ugh! Back on pain meds for now...

He was just tickled pink about this morning, all decked out in his camo and gear. I had him take the digital camera.

I'm going on the next game! I really want a good shooting gun that is accurate highpowered but not too bulky since I am small framed. I want a good side arm too. When he gets back I will let him know.. he may pm you later.

Buy my G36! I even have an extra KJW M9 I could sell too.. 😀

yah the op was fun as hell.. gun nirvana seems that most people all have M4s or variants..
there were a few high dollar exotics like a 1000 dollar M249 SAW out there... that gun hits so hard and fast..
and a PSG-1 that was right at the border at 500 fps super accurate.

Gonna have to spend a fortune to be competitive with these guys.

I love airsoft, its great, and much better than paintball. I wish I loved down there were there is a huge following and can have lareg scale wars. I know that there is a place down in Florida where they use helo's and everything, its amazing. I have a Classic Army M15 and two side arms (Colt .45's)

Airsoft at it's best...*drool

This is OP Irene, part of the Lion Claws series hosted by the same people that did Op Night Scorpion.
http://www.oplionclaws.com/index.php for those interested.

These people went all out to create a life like destroyed city and bring in old tanks and gear.

Yep that is awesome, I played on an Urban field once and it was great, I tought my team how to clear rooms (Using Delta Force tactics) and when the op began it was very real and fun as hell storming the building and freeing hostages.

wow SVSiN, that sound really cool! I wish i could get into airsoft but man... 1K is just money i dont have 🙁. Another reason could be because i dont see much airsoft happening in Canada, or in Ontario to be more specific.

no offense meant if its what you like to do, i just don't see the point in shooting little plastic pellets at each other. paintball sound so much more fun.

Airsoft guns are notoriously more realistic looking than paintball guns.

so its all about the look of the gun? whats the point in having "wars" then?

i'd rather play with paintball than plastic pellets

Well paintball is ok...totally different type of game... but paintball kinda stinks they play for an entire day down here in the woods paintball by the end of the day the average uniform looks like a spotted flouresant painting.... at least with airsoft you dont ruin your high dollar uniform/web gear..

the average set up for airsoft is
1 set military issue camo
1 set military/swat issue combat boots
1 ballistic vest
1 combat harness
1 Shoulder/thigh holsters for sidearms
1 helmet/or Military issued hat/cover
radio with headset
night vision system for night ops

now thats well over 1k in gear not counting weps yet and the guns are about 300 for a entry level rifle and 100 for a pistol.. some of the weps are 1000s of dollars.

the average player carries 1 Rifle/sniper assaunt or support (yes there are all 3 )
and then at least 1 sidearm

Its more like going on a Military war game with the Army or Marines..

I've always imagined it to be a military version of nerds playing wizards in the forest casting imaginary spells on each other. I own a small springer so I can shoot around in my backyard with some friends when we're bored, and have shot AEGs before. I have also played airsoft with people who were wearing those gears that you mentioned. But in the end, it felt like role playing. I don't mean to offend anyone, but it feels as if a lot of airsoft guys know that what they do is just role playing war, and they try to talk it up. When I talk to them about it, they are careful with their words, stating that they use pellets (i have yet hear one refer to them as plastic pellets or BBs, which is what they really are). When you mention pellets in front of other people, they will think about metallic pellets.

I thought that is what it is suppose to be about, a game, role playing, fun... I mean, military ops, tactics, strategy.

I personally would not want to play a game were you would become seriously injured... nope, not for me! But would love a sport game that involved high energy, adrenaline rushed fun... like this.

Like one of my next door neighbors said, and I had to laugh... if you used real guns, well, one shot and that would pretty much end that game for ya!

Paintball does not interest me because of the mess involved... and it doesn't seem to be the same as airsoft.

But I guess each to his own when it comes to games.

I have to say I def like paintball a lot more than airsoft, I don't really have the time for either though to warrant buying a good gun.

Welll, not sure about Ontario, but you'd be surprised about Canada. I bought my first set of guns there (Asia Pacific Airsoft, before the guy went crazy...) so I know there's a pretty decent following up there. Granted, all you guys could do is cold-weather missions... 😉 😀
