I also have another question....I am confused about their undergraduate business program. It says u take it for 2 years starting in your junior year....does this mean i take normal courses at UCB for 2 years, then take the other 2 years in the business program?

Yes. My GPA is posted in the other thread and I had about 120 hours of community service mostly from tutoring. I also participated in Sci Oly.

Yes, you have to apply as an undergrad into the Business school. GPA was good. Extracurriculars include track and field, editor of the newspaper, academic league. I was an EECS major.

I think the way it works at Berkeley is that you apply as a normal undergrad (maybe econ or undecided), take all the prereq classes for the business program, and apply it in your junior year. I heard many people who don't get into Haas become Econ majors.

You take pre-reqs for the HAAS during your first two years and then apply for your third year. When I was there the program was really competitive to get into. The classes aren't hard as my starcraft addict, class skipping, business major neighbor managed to get A's & B's in his business classes while I worked my ass off in chem and math. If you don't end up getting into HAAS you can always apply to be an econ major. That's where most HAAS rejects end up going.

You would enter undeclared as a freshman (easiest way) and then take pre-reqs for the business major (math, english, stat etc) some of which also satisfies your gen. ed studies for the university. You then apply to HAAS second semester of sophmore year.

Haas School: Undergraduate Program
If you don't have the ability to find the website and look for this information yourself, i doubt you'll get into Cal let alone Haas.

He HAAS exceptance rate is much lower than that. I don't remember the exact numbers though. It's a highly competitive major to get into. Like I said, the classes aren't hard, but the curves are so jacked up that even if you miss 3 out of a 100 questions, you could still get a B or C on the exam.

Im a student at UCB--I attended a presentation by the Haas school of business during orientation and the people said the acceptance rate to haas undergrad major was ~50%. you also apply for the pre-business admin major the end of your sophomore year/beginning or junior. you really aren't officially admitted into the major or the college until you apply and are accepted by Haas.

AccruedExpenditure, as far as I know, the information presented was correct.

as for he OP, I had a 4.4+ weighted GPA, 2190 SATI, but not many extra curriculars. Mostly orchestra and a few clubs with community service here and there. you can ride your academics into berkeley if they are good enough.

I'm MCB major going into my senior year. I was transferred into Cal last year so I guess my 3.33 high school GPA and 1040 SAT (out of the older 1600 system) dont count :) My community college GPA was 3.5 if that matters. No extracurricular activities what-so-ever. My current GPA at Cal is 3.0.

from what graduates of Haas have told me:
1) getting in is the hardest part. After that it's a breeze
2) Haas's incoming students recently have been getting dumber by the year
