There was a thread about this some two or three weeks ago. Anyway, it didn't hurt me much at all. I had mine taken out two at a time. The first time, I went back to work afterwards and just mumbled through the rest of the day. The second time, I went home and drywalled my basement. I guess the pain can vary depending on how hard they are to get out, but mine weren't easy; the dentist was pulling so hard the assistant had to hold my head, and one finally cracked from the pliers and came out in pieces. My jaw was a little sore, but no worse than, say, having a headache. Make sure you follow the instructions for after the procedure to avoid the dreaded "dry socket". I understand that can really hurt. One of the machinists in my shop got dry socket, and said it hurt like a &*^$%, and he's not the complaining kind. He never missed any work over it though.

Good luck, and don't be a sissy. We've got enough sissies these days.

I had all 4 of mine taken out at once. They knocked me out, and it was over instantly =) Recovery for me wasn't NEARLY as bad as many people say. I slept the rest of the day that day, and the next day was just a little woosy. Besides that, it wasn't bad at all. I didn't even use any of the pain medicine he prescribed.

i had to have the two bottom out under general anasthetic. they cut the gum away, sliced some bone off my jaw, and pulled them out after cracking them in four! that was a breese I could even see the bone slice part, the big problem was twhen they sewsed up the hole it was hard to open my mouth without ripping the sewing, eventually most of the sewing ripped through, also they cut up the inside of my mouth a bit so i had monster mouth ulsers that bled for about two weeks, that was shocking but hopefully it will be a breese for you.

I had all four of mine pulled about four years ago. They didn't completely knock me out, so I was quasi-awake when they did it. I remember whiteknuckling the chair when they did something that hurt. They said it took like three hours to do, but it only seemed like 10-15 minutes to me. I was probably delirious from the drugs or something. It still hurt. Didn't take that long to heal. I remember having to just sit in band and not being able to play my trumpet so as not to put pressure on the healing gums. I didn't lose any weight or anything. Probably since I was eating a lot of ice cream, not exactly healthy for you. I wasn't eating much else, so I guess the fat and calories from the ice cream made up for the lack of regular foods.

had two wisdom teeth pulled out in one day, had a double dose of injections so it didn't hurt at all, but one of the wounds didn't heal and I ended up bleeding for the ENTIRE day!! Seriously, no joke. No fun trying to sleep when you got blood dripping out of your mouth onto your pillow every 5 minutes :(

hey azn,

got all mine pulled out at tripler for 8$ a tooth. They put me out with a ton of morphine...seemed like i was asleep for two minutes. when i came too, i couldn't even walk out of the place and I felt really good and loopy for an hour, then my jaw really started to feel sore, like I'd been punched real hard on both sides of my face.

the blender will be your friend...have fun

luckily no. three have already grown out and seem fine. one is nowhere to be found.. dont think that will pose a problem.. it has been about 2yrs since going to the dentist for xrays.. but they made no mention of it that time.

Had all four removed (none were out there yet, so I was knocked out while my gums were cut and they were yanked). I was really sick for a couple of days, I couldn't eat much for 3-4 days since my mouth wasn't quite working, and there was a lot of swelling, but other than that, it didn't suck.
