Any of you athletes ever use "The Stick"?

The stick, for those of you who are wondering, is basically a massage stick (like a rolling pin, but lighter weight and more flexible) for massaging out injuries/soreness in legs, arms, etc. I just picked one up recently to try to help with my hamstring rehab, and I'm wondering who else out there uses it/has used it/has opinions on it.

I know the USPS trainers use it for their cyclists, and quite a few pro athletes use it -- basically it's a viable alternative to massage therapy when you can't get a deep-tissue massage every day.

I have one, it works pretty well for cramps and tight muscles. I use to massage my hammies and my IT band; it hurts so much but it really loosens them up.

Fausto, you should check this thing out. I used it quite a bit yesterday and my legs feel very good today -- the real test will be at the upcoming Ultimate tournament, though.

I was on their website, and they suggested the "Big Stick" for me. My back is often tight (i do stretch a lot) and if this would bring some relief I would try it in an instant.

It's designed for rolling muscles out, rather than simply massaging them -- trying to achieve myofascial release (google it). Runners I know swear by it, and I'm giving it a try for my hamstring/right leg problems I've been having.

It definitely feels great, that's for sure.

just googled MFR (thanks BTW). I think I'll pick one of these bears up. Did you get yours online or at a BM?

At a BM -- check your local runner's store.
