Any occupation more admirable than firefighter/emt?

Seriously, can you think of any occupation that commands more love and respect than firefighters and emergency medical technicians? you ever hear of anyone that doesn't like firefighters?

Just a thoguht that came to mind. Firefighters rock.

The police also do a very honorable job IMO. They serve our society very bravely, often putting themselves in dangerous situations.

teachers, ESP HS teachers are so overrated...its like there is this romanticism associated with those people...like their academic mediocrity should be rewarded in some way

Firefighters are way cool. It takes guts to be running up a building while everyone else is rushing to get the hell out.

If you don't think gabage collectors are admirable, that's your opinion. I have a great respect to these people. I have no desire for sarcasm nor being funny when I posted my above statement.
