Any NSLU2 Modders out there?

I run unslung linux on my slugbox. I did the mod almost 2 years ago though and have one of the old ones, so I had to do the 133 => 266MHz resistor mod. The newer ones come stock at 266 now so you won't have to go through the burden of getting the stupid thing open. As for doing the firmware change, it's no more difficult than flashing a WRT54G with DD-WRT, if you've done that one as well.

The transfer rate isn't great, it's only around 5-6MB/sec but it is convenient, and since I'm using an old Seagate Barracuda ATA-IV, it's really quiet. The only thing I use mine for is to have a network to store drivers and patches, and config file backups on it, and also to run SSH instead of telnet, though so no heavy use here.

Cool, I knew there must be someone out ther that had done this. I'm glad to hear that it went fairly smothly. I'm not too worried about the transfer rates. I suppose for the initial load of data I might format it attached to the NSLU2 then move it local to do the initial copy then move it back so everyone (on the LAN) can get to it.
