Any noticable difference between these drives?

Is there any noticable difference in performance between the SATA II and SATA III versions of a WD Caviar Black 1TB drives. In other words, everything else being equal, does SATA III make a real world improvement in performance over SATA II?

0 difference. mechanical drives can barely saturate half of sata2. what are they at now? like 135MB/s on the high end?

I googled around and found the prevailing wisdom to be that mechanical hard drives can't even saturate the sata II bus, let alone the SATA III bus.
and also thanks nanaki.

no problem. if the sata3 drive is cheaper than the sata2 drive, then obviously go for that if you're in the market 🙂

actually, I do believe so, as the 6G version has 64 MB of cache, instead of 32. At least that was true when I bought mine 😀
