Any North Koreans in here?

There is no North Korean/South Korean. There is only one Korea. In Korean, Korea is "Han beloved patriot." Han = one. We're all one gooks.

The Dear Leader doesn't allow the internet to corrupt the minds of The People. Everyone knows this.

Similar, with the only difference being NK/SK actually don't hate each other, and want reunification.

Maybe the individuals, but the governments (and the rest of the surrounding areas) certainly do not want reunification.

- NK is too much of an economic black hole that it would kill the economy in the region; Japan, SK, Russia, China, etc. have a vested interest in keeping the cancer separate. There are several instances of SK gov't officials avoiding the issue altogether when asked by the press, and for good reason.

- NK's gov't does not want to lose power; w/ likely cause, as there are (allegations of) numerous human rights violations, genocide, etc. And how would ol' JongIl afford all the hairgel?

I say nuke'em all (in NK) and let FSM sort them out; or possibly bulldoze the damn place and build a gigantic Wallyworld (or E-mart, potentially) on top of it.

To anser the OPs question:
Lots.
Roughly 85% of this forum is made up of N. Koreans & N. Vietnamese.
(Most of)The rest of us are Indian, American, & Canadian, in that order.

I think that's why you guys call us gooks. Cuz we go around saying "me beloved patriot, me beloved patriot"

You go around saying "Me beloved patriot, me beloved patriot"? How's that been working out for you? 😛

I am in the minority as I am against reunification (for the obvious reasons you've listed). But if you know Koreans, we are a bunch of idealistic drama queens, which makes sense why the general populace wants it.

I can say so far I've avoided this kind of miscommunication http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7096Vajx38

Not sure if the general populace wants it. The original generation that were present during the Korean war are dying out and the current generation of S. Koreans that are 1+ generation removed see NK as a separate entity led by a madman.

Certainly SK'ers want NK off their back but can't say kill'em all and let FSM sort it out only because of "family ties" in NK/social etiquette (and most of them don't know about the holy noodly appendages) - and of course people want the issue resolved peacefully if at all possible (it ain't happenin' junior); they vie for reunification only for that reason but many Koreans realize it isn't going to happen peacefully.

The mass media has to keep appearances that we want reunification to appease the older generation - and to keep "friendly" relations w/ NK'ers who watch SK broadcasts - but I don't see it continuing after ~20 years (assuming the regime is around that long).

Edit: the mainlanders see it this way, but ex-pats (regardless of nationality) tend to retain the attitudes of their time; people that came from the 60's have 60's attitudes, etc. So it may be that the ex-pats want reunification moreso than the mainlanders - but we run into the same issue of 2nd gen immigrants wondering why you'd want reunification - to them it's the neighboring country of their parents' home country, so they have a more objective view into the situation, OTOH some may see it differently due to their parents' nostalgia, but I don't think you're in the minority there.
