Any NightWish Fans?

Started listening to them lately. Any fans here? I like them so far. Their music reminds me of Hammerfall. I like Hammerfall a bit more because I think their songs are happier. They sing about dragons and knights and honor.

NightWish, I am not sure what they sing about. They are a bit devilish and gothic and I don't like that part. But they aren't scary like Mudvayne or Slipknot.

Oh yeah, they go on tour in the States this summer.

Nightwish kicks ass.

They are one of my top 5 power metal bands.
I've been listening to their stuff for several years, and it never gets boring (though I probably only listen to their music about once or twice per week)
 
Can some of the fans explain to me what their genre really is like? They are metal for sure but they seem more like "happy" metal. I know that sounds vague, but I am not really into alot of hard metal since it's just alot of shouting and about topics I don't particularly care for. And yes, I'll check out some lyrics later when time permits. It's easier to read them than try to listen to them while the music is playing.

Normal metal, rather than death metal.
Death metal sucks.

Power/speed metal is good. Happier. Helloween/Gamma Ray/Dragonforce

I was looking at tickets to see Nightwish in Germany (since I'm from the UK) - didn't seem too bad in terms of price, but I have no money to get there 🙁

Nightwish have kinda gothic metal with a female opera vocalist and a mix with classical music.

It's very typical of Scandinavian Prog Rock.
 
Their songs becomes a bit boring after a while, but they have a few good songs,
ex. Bless the Child and 10th Man Down

Ever Dream, Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean, Slaying the Dreamer, The Kinslayer.
 
I'm not a fan... I don't like the singer's voice; too piercing for my tastes. But if you like Nightwish, also check out Therion. They're cool.
 
the only song i heard was FantasMic, as it was used as BGM in krsnik mad movie for tsukihime (any tsukihime fans out there? 😀)
everyone seemed to love the song, that includes me as well 🙂
 
they have like three good songs, and then all the rest of their music sounds EXACTLY THE SAME, so it gets old fast....
