Does anyone have any specs or release dates on the latest and greatest from Nvidia? i am planning on buying a new video card in the next few months for gaming, but I am torn between Nvidia or ATI. Comments and suggestions would be greatlu appreciated.
 
Its all rumor pretty much right now. Rest assured that when something concrete is out it will be all over just about all the hardware sites.

From what I?ve read its going to be something along these lines. And Nvidia are doing everything in there power to be number 1 again.

Yeah, but untill it hits the street its all pretty pointless to list specs. Either ATI or NVidia or to a lesser extent anybody could come out with a killer card. But untill its past the rumor stage it doesn't matter.

Let me see.... NV30 was going to blow R300 core in everything, at least that was what rumours said.... and it didn't.
Specs seem better in NV40, but don't rely on rumours, will see how they both perform when they come out, it is uselles to talk about it now. Will have plenty of time to do it in the future! 🙂

 
Just because NV30 didnt follow through on beating the R300 doesnt mean that they wont succeed this time. Obviously youre a fanboy! Im not, I just choose reliability over "performance" but if some people dont mind a few errors on there systems then theres nothing I can do about it or would care to do about it.

You claim to be objective yet you state one of the biggest fanboy arguements ever uttered -- in the same sentence as your claim to objectivity. At least Rollo and VIAN don't throw around the word fanboy in every sentence of every post they make.

LOL!!! You seem to be very clever... MP2 is DX9... Nvidia performs better in MP2.... and you call me a fanboy 😀
If Nvidia is better I will just buy it, I have no problem with the company, in fact I own two mobos with Nvidia chipset.
It's funny how you call me a fanboy when I have not stated ATi will perform better in the next gen, as you have pointed for Nvidia, and let me tell you you would be objective if you would wait to see performance tests instead of claiming better performance before hardware is out..... fanboy 😉
 
I am not really understanding how people are now saying the NV40 is the NV45.

First off if the NV40 was supposed to be 8X2 Nvidia has never done a product refresh where they made any sigificant changes to the core. NV35 is about the closest thing when they stripped out the integer pipeline and made it straight floating point.

I think if this 16X1 rumor proves true this is what the NV40 was going to be all along.

Lmao, how am I a fan boy when I clearly state that any company could come out with a killer card? I would say the exact same thing about somebody posting ATI specs of a card that isn't out yet, or any company for that matter. And it only tells you what to expect if you are an idiot. People can list all the rumors and numbers they want, untill its out its moot. And that goes for ATI or NVidia or any other company.

Yep Nvidia are not going easy on ATI this round they have pushed forward with a design that they initially went going to release until later on end of year or even 2005 NV50 but either way strong competition from ATI has made them pull out there big guns sooner rather then later ..... see how competition pays off in the end people we win big time. now lets just see those prices YIKES!
