Just wondering is there any news on this chipset? Who is going to be the first to come out with a board? Could it be MSI? ASUS? When is it going to be released?

nForce 415-D motherboards are supposed to be out and about by the end of this month, 2 weeks that is. ASUS, MSI, and/or Leadtek will have 415-D out first. No one really knows which of these mainboard manufacturers will have their 415-D boards out first.
what is the 415D? newer version of the nforce?
The 415-D is the exact same thing as the 420-D except w/o the GeF2MX graphics. This board is supposed to be around $100 and overclock well.

The prices should be somewhere around $100. I have heard this two or three times. That is an excellent price. Especially considering you get onboard LAN and the best onboard sound you can find.

WIth ram prices steadily climbing, i think i'll wait for a little bit.

I think the one thing nForce has going for them is their onboard sound. If it is as good as some people have claimed to be, and if the chipset is fairly stable, that $100 price range is very attractive. Considering most sound cards with that kind of quality such as the Audigy will cost you at least $60, nForce will have somewhat of an advantage.
I know myself can't wait until the 415-D comes out.

No. You are incorrect, at least partly. 2 DIMM's are not required for maximum performance on nForce 420/415-D, unless you are using the integrated video (which 415-D doesn't have). The Athlon's fsb can't use any more bandwidth than a single channel (or by using only 1 DIMM. Take a look at Anand's nForce 220/420-D review. 220-D is using only a single DIMM, while 420/415-D requires 2 DIMM's. See how in everything, except for integrated video performance, 220-D and 420/415-D are on equal grounds? So, for 415-D, it will be easy to use only 1 DIMM, because there is no integrated video.
