Any news on a die shrink for Xeon Phi (14nm)?

I've been looking around the web and haven't found anything buy a sort of 'refresh' of the Phi line this year, but no info on the transition to the next node or any architectural improvements.

Anybody more in the know that me (who can speak what they know)?

TIA

I Wouldn't expect anything from Intel at 14 nm until the middle of 2014. Broadwell isn't likely going to come out until the end. As for the Phi, who knows.

There is a refresh coming this year on 22nm: http://cdn4.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Intel-Xeon-Phi-SKUs.jpg

14nm isn't ready yet, I don't expect a shrink before 2H 2014.

Thanks, I knew about the refresh (though I don't think it brings any more performance to the market)

So Broadwell is 2H14? I guess that explains the lack of details on the 14nm Xeon Phi - since it will most likely come out after Broadwell (which will be Intel's bread and butter CPU).

There haven't really been any rumors about Broadwell's release date, but given how Intel has been going 15-16ish months between releases, it would make sense if it was initially released in, say, October 2014. Skylake would then be January 2016.

I do think Intel originally wanted to get going on some 14 nm production by the end of this year, but the start got pushed into 2014.
