Maybe I'm too old-school but phones and tablets are lame. Sure faster ones are great and all but I'm not going to do any real work on them so I don't care about them much.

CPUs and GPUs for desktops and servers, though, now those are sexy beasts. They will always and forever be faster and more powerful than any portable stuff, based simply on TDP requirements alone. Delaying the release of performance kings so some brats can get slightly better graphics for their crappy games on their lame phones a few months earlier seems like a travesty. That's oversimplifying things quite a lot and maybe a little inflammatory, but still. I want new shiny toys before others get their shiny toys. :p

I totally agree with you, I have got myself a R9 290 to get myself over the next year of waiting again! I wonder if phones/tablets will eventually die down?

Asking if phones/tables will die down is the wrong question.

Remember what a "Phone" used to be? Markets will evolve, merge, divide and so on. You will see more mobile gaming, but eventually that will be "gaming" because why would you want to not be able to take your game with you.
