Any news of a Diablo 3?

I would also be interested in knowing if they had a sequal in the works...maybe like a squal? Storm? Blizzard? Get it?😀
 
ive been checking battle.net for some time now. Right now they are too preoccupied with World of Warcraft and Starcraft: Ghost, and the WC3 expansion. But they keep saying that they have not ruled out the possibility of returning to the diablo world in the future.

The way things are going, i'd say the earliest d3 would be released is 2074

The D2 1.10 patch should be coming out fairly soon however.

uhm, i haven't heard any word on another diablo, they have their hands plenty full with the other things they are making...

i pray that they'll make starcraft 2 before diablo 3. starcraft 2 > *, or it should, if they do it right.... some say w3 was a let-down, but i think it's great, i play it daily on b-net. 😉
 
The only news in the D2 world is the long awaited and fatally delayed 1.10 patch. According to Bill Roper (the Cow King so to speak 😉) they are within a final beta of the 1.10 patch for testing. That means if all is perfect... or as perfect as blizzard prgrams can be... we may see it in about 3-4 weeks. Chances are slim that it will be ok and all the major bugs are worked out. I doubt they'll have it in 3-4 weeks. The good news about the patch is that it is so large and game changing, it's basically like a new small expansion. It's too bad most of the old D2 population has basically given up after waiting nearly 2 years for one lousy game patch.

As for Diablo 3? Like already stated, Blizzard generally focuses on one large project at a time. Until WC3 expansion, D2 patch, and World of Warcraft is out, there won't be much attention for future relases not even slated at the moment like Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 (SC2 first before D3). I wouldn't doubt that we won't see a diablo 3 for at least 3-4 years unless something drastic changes with management and personnel structuring. Which is a possibility if Vivendi/Universal sells off Blizzard and Blizzard gets a wealthy parent company that gives them more money and staff. For now, there really is no point in thinking about Diablo 3. It could be 3+ years to never so no need to get your hopes up. Who knows what kind of game technology will be out then. Hopefully they'll forget about the 3DFX GLIDE API 😛
 
I don't know if it's a good thing or bad thing people keep saying things like "not in our lifetime" or "in 2074". Personally, I find it refreshing that Blizzard works on and releases games when they are ready and complete. I don't want to beta test after I paid for it.

However, I'd like a Diablo 3. And a Starcraft 2. I am willing to wait.

Blizzard North (Makers of Diablo) have not yet announced what they are working on, not even at E3. I'm sure they haven't been on one long vacation since D2 came out though 😛

you asked this question too soon.. you gotta wait for another 3 or 4 yrs before hearing anything about d3.. let not forget blizz took 5 yrs to create d2..
 
Diablo 3 is just what I need to suck my life for another 6 months. When I got Diablo II, I was just hooked. Couldn't stop playing. Then I realized that its not much of an RPG, but a trading game, and it got boring. Also, the game has had a lot of problems with dupes/hacks (ie SOJs, Windforce, etc.) Recently, Diablo II has been overrun by a ton of really cheap hacked items (ie White Ring) that sort of ruin the game. I mean its no fair going against someone who has one item equalling the power of your entire invetory.
 
i hate diablo, it's been consuming my life for the past three weeks. i had to uninstall it, but me thinks that i'll be installing it pretty soon 😕
 
starcraft2 would be before D3, so many fans have been asking about it and it is palyed so much that they have to be thinking about a sequel
 
They should balance the items. Everyone has the same stuff, it's really crappy. They should do like in Baldur's Gate, you have infinite possibilities of equipment to use. They should also add more classes and races and have the possibility to choose between a male and a female, I would of loved to be a male Assassin or male Amazon. 😀 I also think they should do it completly 3D like Neverwinter Nights... and release 2 expansion packs instead of one. 🙂 And ban everyone who hacks.
 
I kinda dig Diablo II. When I just want mindless gaming, I play it for hours. My character died pretty far away from a waypoint (single player), and I just haven't had the energy to try to fight my way back to the corpse. One of these days I'll do it, I hope.
