Any new shooters in the horizon that are "realistic"?

I still enjoy loading up Ravenshield and going through the missions taking out the tangos. First time playing Operation Flashpoint I was going "oh $hit. I'm all alone and surround by russians in the middle of nowhere." Had a blast with Arma as well.

Is it just me or are more and more fps going towards the regenerative health system? They have their place but where are more of the realistic fps?

Operation Flashpoint 2, and ARMA 2 are coming out sometime. I think there may be a newer version of America's Army also being made.

I think I just read that the Project Reality mod for BF2 has a new version .85 (or 8.5?) coming out soon, and a single player version.

The Source mod Insurgency is very realistic.

plus, its free. All you need is a Source based game, and if you dont have one, I think Valve is still giving HL2:DM free if you have either a Nvidia or ATI gpu (are there any others anymore?). I think you will have to seach for the link to get the free HL2:DM though.

These. OpFlash 2 and ArmA 2 are as realistic as you're going to get. Regenerative health sucks, but all the console noobs can't survive without it.

Yup, I love it. Well, you can run n gun, but you have to actually be good at it instead of just spraying everywhere.

One shot kills wouldn't be realistic.
If you have ever seen actual people shot they don't die from one shot unless you seriously damage the brain. Otherwise they move around a bit as life functions stop. And unless you stop the heart from pumping blood 100% they can still stumble around, crawl, etc. Movies have given people that idea that you shoot someone in the head, they die in a split second.
Enemies that you shoot and that flounder around on the ground and even squeeze off rounds as they fall would be more realistic.

Watch some WW2 and Vietnam footage of the wars, not movies, and you can see what realism is.

Another vote for CoD4 HC. It's not super realistic, but the bullets definitely hurt. 1-2 good shots and you're all done.

I am still hoping that World War 2 Online gets with it and pushes out there revamped terrain model w/ included north africa campaign. That would probably be the most realistic game in existance.
