They were going into that market at some point werent they? To compete toe to toe with nvidia and AMD's high/medium ends and not just the low end build in chips. Anything new on that front?

Don't know anything about it, but I just happened to read your sig...

If God likes Starcraft more than Warcraft, how come there's 3 Warcrafts and 1 Starcraft out?
I myself am a Starcraft fan [eagerly anticipating SC2 :D] but.. I mean, there's already three Warcrafts!

Because god is now going to punish (or reward depandant on your point of view) warcraft fans with MMO only releases from now on whilest starcraft remains an RTS game.

Disclaimer: I am not religious and have never spoken with god about starcraft or warcraft :p Im making assumptions.

The two warcrafts were before starcraft. It was "it" before SC came out.

edit: Then TA came along and made it a moot point anyways. :p I mean, why play anything but the best?

Starcraft II was definitely due but I hope after that Blizzard plans on releasing Warcraft IV (a real RTS and not a MMO please) or work on a new IP, I was gonna say work on Diablo III but the guys at Flagship Studios have us covered in that sense.

I think we already know what Blizzard has planned next for the Warcraft franchise...

Honestly, with the HUGE success Blizz has had with WoW, I can't imagine them ever going back to an RTS with it. I bet you'll see WoW II before you see Warcraft IV. Think about it... $50 for the game + $14-16/month (I've had an account for almost 2 yrs) vs. a $50 one time pop for the game. They just broke 10 million subscribers, what would you do if you were in their shoes?

Hey as long as they don't turn the Diablo or StarCraft franchises into MMOs I'll be happy the way things are :D When SC2 comes out I'm going to pounce on it ^^

Back on topic...Larrabee looks like it'll add fuel to the fire that is the GPU wars, be cool if in two years time AT is flooded with 'which Intel GPU to go for?' :p

Yeah, it will mirror the CPU forums, Intel or AMD? Shame not too much solid info is known about it.

Because god doesn't make games, he only plays them and rates them with a smite rating.

that or he doesn't allow changes to perfection :p

Anyways, the biggest drawback of the warcraft is that the plot is so weak. Starcraft has some of the best plot for a game, ever. with the exception of warcraft 3 all the warcraft games had crap plot. WC1, 2 and WOW all suck as far as plot is concerned. WC3 has awesome plot though.
But it shouldn't have been a 3d game. Only today with games like WIC do we finally have worthwhile 3d strategy games where nothing is sacrificed to make the game 3d. Where it looks better, but still plays with the level of unit control (and amount of units) that you can have in a 2d game like starcraft

I would love to see this. Come on Intel give us a mid high graphics card.

I think they will target the workstation/GPGPU market first. Supposedly sampling will take place around 2H09 and the actual cards released during 2010.

Didn't intel try this like 10 years ago and fell flat on their face? I remember their dedicated GPUs. They were crap. They better stick to what they do best.

Dawn of War is a rather good RTS with 3D graphics, along with Company of Heroes, at least imo. Anyways the best solution for the consumers would be if Intel actually successfully got into the discrete graphics card market and nVidia got into the cpu market, 3 competitors :D

Heres hoping for another graphics competitor to drive innovation at the low-mid range.

We need to see the end of 64bit memory busses on graphics cards, period.
