DDR is currently the most popular, but DDR2 modules are already around and DDR3 is on the way.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
 
There is DDR2, Intel is already using it AMD is still using DDR as DDR2 isnt as efficent right now. AMD is coming out with a new processor socket soon M2 and that is supposed to use DDR2-667.
