My old NEC 17" looks like it died....total black screen....and old 15" still works.....

Any ideas for a 17" or 19" replacement? Any LCD thoughts?

Monitor mainly used for websurfing.....I'm 50 so not as young eyes as some of your guys....

I had my eye on the 19" Philips at Office Depot, $249, less $100 rebate....

Thanks

I picked up a HITACHI CM721F from Newegg.com, it is a really nice 19" monitor listed at $249. I play a lot of games like CS and Madden and everything really. The picture quality on this monitor is amazing, I am really impressed by it. If you are mainly going to surf the web, then I suggest getting a LCD cause they are easier on your eyes. My roomate has a Samsung Syncmaster 150MP (LCD) and it is amazing. Great picture quality and it has TV in, and a whole slew of other features. He can watch TV in PIP, while surfing the web, or playing a game. Those monitors run real expensive though, he paid about $700 dollars for that bad boy.

Hmm, another vote for Hitachi CM 721 F + 5 year of warranty!

How about the Samsung 955DF? The reviews I've seen and the price seems right 227$ @ buy.com.
