Any Netscape Gurus Here? Help Needed!

As many of you probably know, in NS 4.XX it's possible to start NS with a particular personal profile from the command line using the -P option, e.g. "C:\Netscape\Netscape.exe" -P"George" if I want NS to start with George's personal profile. Well, on several occasions, on different computers, this mechanism suddenly stopped working and I can't fix it! What I get instead is that NS 4.78 starts, asks me to choose from the several profiles it knows about, and when the NS window opens, in the URL bar I get -PGeorge as an URL which NS tries to digest and of course fails. What's going on? Why does it stop working suddenly and how do I fix it? I uninstalled NS as completly as I can (cleaned directorie, registry keys, etc), and then installed it again, to no avail. NS simply refuses to recognize and execute the -P option! I put NS 6.2 to see how it is, but it doesn't seem to have command-line options at all? I still have to choose a profile from the list when NS 6.2 starts. I want to go back to 4.78, but I want my command-line options back!

This doesn't fit in with the other "Highly Technical" threads, and if you read the note at the top, you'll see it is not for tech support questions. Try reposting in the software forum 😉
