Any my Xbox bites the dust

After giving me trouble only on Need For Speed Underground 1 and 2 it now is having a hard time reading all of my 26 games. Its truely a sad day 🙁 What should I do? How much will a new DVD drive replacement cost? Any idea? BTW my system was bought in Christmas of the year of launch and is NOT modded.

Open it up, get some rubbing alcohol and a q-tip, and wipe off the laser. I have to periodically do this to my PS2, it's a pain in the ass. Always seems to do the trick though.

If you've got a multimeter, after cleaning off the lens, you can try adjusting the laser's voltage. There's a tutorial or two on xbox-scene.

Actually you dont really need a multimeter, you just have to tweak the two pots.
