NBA 2k11 is a really really fun basketball game. Great graphics, great gameplay, tons of replayability. Top Spin 4 is a truly awesome game as well. The execution of this game is spot on. You will not be disappointed by either of these games, and both become exponentially more fun with people to play with or against.

Demon's Souls is Nintendo Hard and imo, boring and has no direction.

Both the Uncharted games are great. Heavy Rain was interesting in the demo. God of War 3 is also pretty good.

And that's the extent of my PS3 experience. Currently playing Uncharted 2.

Considering you have a launch 60 gig, it should be backwards compatible with ps2 games.

I'm not sure if they'll meet your definition of an adventure game, but I really enjoyed Okami on the ps2. Shadow of the Colossus is pretty good as well, and I've heard Ico is another iconic ps2 game.

Hmm, I've never played Ico... interesting.

Warhawk is PS3 exclusive right?

I disagree with everything in this sentence, and find Demons Souls to be the best action RPG I have ever played, as well as the best console game this generation.

I'll second that. I bought this game twice. One original release, which I beat and gave to my brother, and a best hits copy, to replay it, because I realized, there isn't a game like it out since that has captured my interest that much.

I didn't care for it, but I could see why some would get into it. It's quite hardcore and has a lot of depth and secrets to it if you're willing to go that far. Personally I'm just not into that type of game so I got rid of it. It's definitely great for who it was intended for, and everybody else (me included) just won't get it.

Yeah. Like any other game, some people will like it and some won't. It doesn't bother me when other people don't like it; I just like to voice my opinion to do a +1 to the number of Demons Souls fans. :)

Action/Adventure- Unchartered and the second along with God of War trilogy(first two come on one disk, then 3). For true adventure type gaming, Heavy Rain is the only good true adventure title I can recall on the consoles, really ever I guess.

Sports- The Show, by far the best baseball game out. Most of the rest of the good sports titles are cross platform(outside of GT5 which you said you weren't interested in).

Speaking to your broad gaming tastes, Demon's Souls is probably the best game this generation- on any platform- if you are up for the challenge.

Oooh, aren't you clever (though you do have a reputation for being an ass anyway). Probably would have taken you less effort to type "yes" or "no"... but then again, that's not the point isn't it?

So anyway, is it?

Just a joke dude...and yes it is.

It's just my opinion of course, but the game doesn't seem to have any direction. You don't know where to go or what to do, and you die eleventy billion times on the way there. I like games that are challenging, yet easy to play and understand. Demon's Souls is not the latter.

Yep, NBA 2K11 is awesome and one I play daily. Other than that, must play I would say Uncharted 2 and God of War 3.

Save your money. I can't bring myself to play console games after being a pc gamer for so long. I like using the kb&m and the blurry graphics of the ps3 running at 30fps just plain sucks. I bought a ps3 for a blu ray 3d player and luckily I've only spent $60 in games that I'll never play.

Well that's sad for you to be in that mind set. I play tons of PC games yet I still have consoles because I'd be missing out on tons of great games. I'm a gamer so I'm going to play games no matter what platform they're on.

I like the PSN Tetris. 1080p with great sound effects.

As far as Ico and Shadow of the Colossus they are supposed to be re-released as a PS3 duo similar to God of War 1 & 2 but I read that was delayed until late 2011 or maybe even 2012. But if you can wait, I would suggest waiting.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Heavenly Sword. It is kinda like a God of War type game; exclusive to the PS3.

Other than that, I would agree with the games mentioned above; Metal Gear Solid 4, Ratchet and Clank, Motorstorm, Warhawk, Uncharted etc. ;)

Heavy Rain was great, but it's even better with Move Controllers, tbh, I think it's an incomplete game without move.

o rly. I just picked up Heavy Rain on Saturday. Haven't even opened it yet, but, how come it's so much better with Move controllers?

It generally makes the game much more immersive, since the game is usually a bunch of movements, etc. So having move makes you feel like you're in the game more.

I bought the PS Move just for Heavy Rain (and Archery game). LOL
