:music:Oh, I'm a lumberjack, and I'm okay,
I sleep all night and I work all day.

CHORUS: He's a lumberjack, and he's okay,
He sleeps all night and he works all day.

I cut down trees, I eat my lunch,
I go to the lava-try.
On Wednesdays I go shoppin'
And have buttered scones for tea.

Mounties: He cuts down trees, he eats his lunch,
He goes to the lava-try.
On Wednesdays 'e goes shoppin'
And has buttered scones for tea.

CHORUS

I cut down trees, I skip and jump,
I like to press wild flowers.
I put on women's clothing,
And hang around in bars.

Mounties: He cuts down trees, he skips and jumps,
He likes to press wild flowers.
He puts on women's clothing
And hangs around.... In bars???????

CHORUS

I chop down trees, I wear high heels,
Suspendies and a bra.
I wish I'd been a girlie
Just like my dear papa.

Mounties: He cuts down trees, he wears high heels
Suspendies?? and a .... a Bra????
(spoken, raggedly) What's this? Wants to be a *girlie*? Oh, My!
And I thought you were so rugged! Poofter!

CHORUS

All: He's a lumberjack, and he's okaaaaaaayyy..... (BONG):music:

Been climbing almost 20 years now so I suppose that makes me qualified... (rock, ice, mountaineering...)

I would recommend American Alpine Institute (AAI) in Bellingham Washington. (Link)

I took an advanced mountaineering class from them several years ago and had a great experience. They are great teachers, very professional, and will truely teach you skills to go out and do things on your own. Some other guides (RMI for ex) seem to just drag clients up the mountain and get them to the top without truely teaching. The guide to client ratio is also excellent and you may end up climbing with some rather well known climbers. (I spent a week with Kelly Cordes before he was very well known...he just put up what is believed to be the longest rock route in the world a few years back.)

Other than AAI, I would look for a group that has AMGA certified guides (such as AAI).

You can also go to rockclimbing.com and check the forums there. Tons of info out there...

Feel free to PM me or ask away here. Mountaineering/climbing has been an incredibly rewarding experience for me and helped me make some great friends.

It is expensive to get started, but much of the gear will literally last 20 years if you take care of it. (unlike computers...there is no need for constant upgrades) Ropes etc wear out, but are actually pretty cheap to replace. Really the expensive part is the travel/time off work expenses. Its all VERY well worth it though...

The other problem is that once you get hooked you never seem to have enough time to get out often enough.
