Hey all, with the big price drops and fluctuations with the 7950s & 7970s, but seem to have settled. Are there any more price cuts anticipated in the following weeks? In particular the GTX 670 & 680 have remained the same since release, any word on if they're gonna drop a little in price with the release of the GTX 660 line?

Report back in about 6 months to a year. Patience is a virtue. I picked up a cheap gtx 460 for now. Once the 670 goes for $200 I'm all in.

lol i think once a 670 goes for $200 we're ALL in.;)

@ Flopper most 7970s are selling for ~$400 (330 euro), so that's becoming the norm. Thing is @ that price its the same as a GTX 670, and with lower power consumption & better performance in more popular games (ie BF3)

what about a release date for the 660 mid range series? rumor on the net was June 25th, but that came and went with no 660 in sight. Any word on the 660 line's release date? That should rumble up prices a bit no?

I dunno, last leaked specs I saw were pretty mediocre specs. That's probably why it's so delayed. It'll probably compete well with the 7850 / 7870 at stock, but OC vs. OC I have my doubts.

Might push prices down some in the $200-250 price segment, but I doubt it will do much to the higher priced cards. Unless they significantly re-worked it to be much more than the leaked specs, which were pretty dead nuts on for the 680 and 670. This is why I didn't wait and bought a 7850 a while ago. Maybe I paid $50 more than if I waited, but who knows how long I'd still be using my 5770 if I was still waiting.

I am pulling the trigger this week. I think it reached to the point where no huge up/down swing would occur until something new comes out. HD 7950 price is now where HD 7870 used to be at.

I think GTX 670 will settle at $400 for custom-built versions with occasional sales to $350, and HD 7950 will settle at $350 with occasional sales to $300. I am getting one each (for cheaper than what others pay! Don't ask! ;) ).

GTX 680 and HD 7970 GHz Edition will likely stay as "halo" SKUs, thus AMD and NV will try to keep them where they are by controlling supplies.
