They both have sniping. There are long range scoped rifles you can use to shoot people from far away while your team advance. That is sniping. And many of the levels are big enough to make use of it. Just because it isn't done from a mile away doesn't mean it isn't sniping. Also the OP says he wants slower paced FPS's with planning and sneaking which is exactly what those games are like.

No, there aren't. Not in SWAT 4 anyway. If you consider a large-ish room with an M4 (the only "rifle" in the game) and a reflex scope "sniping", ok. But actually listening to what the OP is talking about, no, that's just tactical gunfights. In that regard, anything with some modicum of precision could be considered "sniping", but that's just being pedantic.

Again, to the OP, there are few games with the depth, realism, and flexibility of the ArmA games. The maps are literally dozens of miles wide, and the opportunities for every kind of sniping situation with any weapon on earth are almost limitless.

It is sniping, and there is far more than just large-ish room. Some of the later missions are in huge shopping mall / office buildings with huge open spaces, and some missions are oudoors in big open spaces too. And Rainbow 6 has even bigger maps.

That has already been mentioned 6 times in this thread, including by me. Hence me mentioning others that are similar.

It was called Swat 4 CQB.

The CQB stands for close quarter battles. There was no huge mall levels. the biggest levels in the game open space wise wern't big at all. I played and beat every level probably a few dozen times.

This.

At this point, I think this guy is just arguing to argue. There is no mall level or outdoor level. The open levels like the diamond seller and the medical center/hospital are the most open. Again, large rooms.
The only rifles in the game are the M4 and GB36.

This is just getting silly.

I haven't finished the game but you did say that you enjoyed sneaking around and sniping. It sounds like Metal Gear Solid Phantom Pain might be up your alley. I don't know how much sniping there is, I know early on there isn't a lot. But the entire game can be based around stealth. Kind of like the hitman series of games, just less cheesy in my opinion.

Besides battlefied 4, the best sniping game in my opinion is probably to fast paced for you which would be any of the Counter-Strikes, primarily CS:GO as it's the newest with the best graphics.

Besides sniping, what else do you enjoy playing OP? Any racing games, card games, anything else that you like?

I am arguing because you are wrong. There is at least one outdoor mission in either SWAT 4 or the Stetchkov Syndicate expansion. Also many of the missions you start outside and there are outdoor parts to many of the missions. And there are very large rooms too, huge buildings, parking lots, etc.. It is not all close quarters. There is even a specific sniping mechanic that lets you be the sniper... You fools can argue all you want, but you are wrong.

i may be an "older" gamer (32) but i'm not THAT old :D
i mostly play RPGs and TBSs, as i am a tactical mastermind. Occasionally, i do play an action title but nothing online or competitive. right now i'm playing Grim Dawn in the few precious hours i have to spare for gaming.

I love the sniper gameplay but don't like when it's graphic murder type stuff. Hard balance to find.

There is a game literally called Sniper. It's pretty good, I think it has bullet drop.

Really, any game where you click on the screen to disassemble the object on screen is a sniping game.

can't go wrong for 2$. if you haven't played Sniper: Ghost Warrior 1/2 then grab it. graphics a bit outdated by today's standards but a very fun and relaxed game.

Sniper 2 is CryEngine 3 and looks pretty damn good even by today's standards. :colbert:
