any modems with xp drivers?

Diamond SupraMax PCI Monopak 2750

Here's one vendor

I have this modem and it works great with Windows XP Home Edition. Didn't have to do anything, XP installed the correct driver from it's bundled drivers and it's worked flawlessly since Oct. 25th.

Uhm... What PCI modem will not work with Win95, Win98, WinME, Win2K or WinXP?

I have the SupraMax here, and it's worked for everything (except for Linux and BeOS, and probably any other non-Windows OS.. stupid WIN-modem). There is no reason to fear having a PCI modem not work in Windows. They were practically designed to work with Windows.

I had on of those cheap PCTel HSP modems that I could never get working right on Win98, installed it on a XP machine and the OS installed certified drivers that work great.

I would stay away from any Diamond products. Tech support costs $19.95 per call after the first 90 days of ownership. Their drivers really suck and they won't stand behind anything.

It's really sad how low Diamond (once known as an industry leader) has fallen. Good luck to you.

Merry Christmas.

My modem inside my Gateway laptop still won't work. They haven't put out the stinking drivers yet. It's a Xircom I believe. It's internal though.

I second that PCtel softmodem 🙂
I got it free after rebate and it works like a charm. Be sure to get the red boxed one: the green boxed PCtel cheapo modem came with bad drivers that only worked for 2k, not XP.
