Background: I am 100% ukrainian, first generation immigrant. My wife is 100% jewish, thought not practicing judaism.
Today I ran into a former coworker whom I havn't seen in five or so years. Naturally, we talked about new things in our lives. I've mentioned that few years ago I got divorced but since have met a wonderfull girl and took the plunge again, and we have a beautiful baby girl, so on so on... I showed her the pictures and she asked:" Is your wife jewish?" I naturally replied, yes. She asked if it presented any problems, coming from two different cultural upbringings.
To my amazement, I realized that this was a first time I was asked such question and I never thought of it myself, neither has the subject ever came up with my wife. We're just living our lives the way we see fit and enjoy being in love with each other.
So... I wanted to see if anyone else is in the similar relatiosnship and how things have worked out for you. Has the subject of differences in race/ethnicity ever came up with your SO or your family.
BTW, my mother is absolutely crazy about her daughter-in-law and the subject was NEVER discussed in our family.
