Any Mercedes fanbois here?

I've been looking for an older(mid 80's) Mercedes diesel to play around with...basically to convert to run of WVO (veggie burner). The aren't too many local ones. I waited too long on one, and another turned out to be junk.

I've finally located one that sounds decent, but its a different model than I've been looking for. It's an 87 190d, which seems to get called the mini mercedes of baby mercedes. Just curious if anyone here has any experience with this model. Any comments or opinions will be appreaciated

Thanks

I don't own the 190 series Benz, but the forum I go to everyone says the 123 chassis diesels (240D or 300D) are the best diesels ever built by MB. I want to get one of the early to mid 80's 300CD which is the coupe version of these cars.

try www.benzworld.com

190 d is a solid car. Yes the 240D/300TD's are very solid cars. Slow, but solid. However they handle great and get amazing mileage.
