Those results are quite surprising and contradict what Anandtech has posted which show a wash between the 6800 Ultra / X800 XT and 6800 GT / X800 Pro. Any speculation on what is going on?

So, I need to make a decision whether to throw out my GeForce 5900XT and replace it with a 6800 or 6800GT.
From what I see, the main disadvantage here is that I would be subject to the DirectX 8.1 path.
But apparently only water effects and shadows are actually changing if your card can do the DX9 blues. I can hardly think this is worth it.
Opinions?

There are also some shaders which you will notice a HUGE difference in, and, of course, being able to crank up the details and still get your FPS is always nice.
I can't wait to build my DX9 system in about a month here. I'm very much looking forward to a replay of the game with a new rig and all the pretty on.
