How do I figure out "A intersect B" and "B intersect C" if the given are P(A) = .4 and P(B) = .8 and P(C) = .4 ?? Thanks. :(

do you know any more information?

The possible sample is 5.

i still dont see how you can even get the intersection from that information. does it say whatt kind of events a, b and c are? does it say if they are contained in eachother?

(i'm not a stats person, just math. its been a while since ive done stats so im a bit fuzzy on it)

More breakdown.

A: E1, E3 P(A) = .4
B: E1, E2, E4, E5 P(B) = .8
C: E3, E4 P(C) = .4

I hope that helps. What I'm looking for is A (upside down U or intersection) B and B (intersection) C.

a intersect b = e1
b intersect c = e4

(are the e's the members of a, b and c?)

Yes. What I'm looking for is the answer in probability term or in percentage.
