Any Massive Multiplayer Strategy Games

Are there any good massive multiplayer strategy games out there? Some kind of empire-building game like Civilization but with large numbers of players competing online in a big virtual world, similar to MMORPGs like World of Warcraft.

I wouldn't call it a strategy game and the game had a small cult following. I'm not sure if it's even around now.
